Held in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, the "Matsue Ghost Tour (August)" is an event where you can experience the world of ghost stories in Matsue, the beloved home of Lafcadio Hearn's ghost stories. Guided wholeheartedly by local storytellers, you can rediscover the charm of Matsue while sharpening your five senses in the dark. The course was renewed in May 2026. The tour is open to elementary school students and older, accommodating up to 20 participants per day (minimum 5 participants required for operation). Advance application via the event webpage or phone is required at least 8 days prior to the departure date. This tour awakens the senses often forgotten in modern society and offers a special experience distinct from everyday life.
