About this event

'Art Hopping Kurashiki' (AHK) is a market event where visitors can experience the charms of Kurashiki through art, food, and crafts, held primarily at the Ohashi House, a Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property. Inheriting the history of the Ohashi family, wealthy landowners who built their fortune through salt fields and new land development in the late Edo period, this location hosts special themed exhibitions and diverse vendor stalls centered around 'salt.' Visitors can discover the allure of salt that enriches daily life while connecting with the memories of the land. It is a 2-day event where you can fully enjoy a distinct side of Kurashiki's charm through artworks, gourmet food, and handicrafts conveying the warmth of artisanal work.
