Chrysanthemum Festival (Kikuka-sai)

About this event

Held in Miyajima in autumn, this traditional autumn festival offers chrysanthemum flowers to the deities of Itsukushima Shrine. After the ceremony, it provides a rare opportunity to see 10 historic bugaku (court dance and music) pieces dedicated. Along with the beautiful chrysanthemums, this festival is an event full of cultural highlights where you can experience the solemn world of ancient bugaku.
