About this event
The '23rd Sanuki City Henro 88 Walk' held in Sanuki City, Kagawa Prefecture, is a walking event visiting the final three temples of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage: Shido-ji, Nagao-ji, and Okubo-ji. This year, three courses are set: the '3 Temples Completion Course' (approx. 26 km), the 'Henro Trail Course' (approx. 11 km), and the 'Kechigan Course' (approx. 5 km), allowing participants to choose a course according to their physical fitness and purpose. Heading toward the goal of Okubo-ji, walking along the pilgrimage path in late autumn allows participants to experience the local nature and culture. Along the route, hospitality (osettai) such as udon and ameyu (sweet hot ginger beverage) is provided to warmly welcome participants. Details and application forms are scheduled to be placed in public facilities within the city, such as community centers, in late August.
