37th Mima Town Cosmos Festival

The 37th Mima Town Cosmos Festival, an annual autumn tradition, will be held in Mima-cho, Uwajima City, Ehime Prefecture. In the rice fields surrounding the venue at Narumyo Elementary School, approximately 4.5 million cosmos flowers bloom in vibrant colors, enchanting visitors. Admission is free, allowing guests to enjoy the scenery filled with cosmos flowers in various colors such as red, white, and pink. Walking paths are set up within the cosmos fields, making it possible to stroll while surrounded by flowers. In particular, on Sunday, November 1, in addition to viewing the cosmos, a lively day is expected with food truck stalls, a bazaar organized by local high school students and the women's association, and street performances. Furthermore, around 40 scarecrows are exhibited at the venue each year, and a Totoro made of straw is scheduled to be set up this year. Combined with food, entertainment, and exhibits, this event lets you fully enjoy the autumn rural scenery. On the day of the event, the Narumyo Elementary School ground will be open as a parking lot, but it cannot be used in rainy weather. Using the parking lot at Cosmos Hall Mima and taking a bus from there to the venue is also recommended. Outside of the event day, you can also view the cosmos using the nursery school parking lot. The event may be canceled in case of rain, so please check the Uwajima City website or inquire at the Mima Branch Office for the status on the day.
