About this event
In Kamijima Town, autumn festivals are held in various areas when October arrives. The autumn festival in the Yuge Shimo-Yuge District will be held on Friday, October 16, Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18. Children beat danjiri drums, adults carry portable shrines (mikoshi) and danjiri floats, and all generations participate to liven up the festival. A distinctive feature of the festival in the Shimo-Yuge District is the Yakko Procession. While festivals were previously held in September and October, they are now concentrated in October, and at the arrival of October, the entire island is filled with bustling festival excitement.
