Hands-on Fabre Insect Exhibition

Held at the Kochi Prefectural Museum of Literary Arts, the "Hands-on Fabre Insect Exhibition" displays personal belongings of French naturalist Jean-Henri Fabre, insect specimens related to "Souvenirs Entomologiques" (Fabre's Book of Insects), and insect specimens from around the world. Visitors can enjoy interactive hands-on corners to learn about insect ecology while playing, as well as related workshops. "Special Exhibition Commentaries" by members of the Kochi Insect Research Society will take place on August 8, August 29, and September 19, and exhibition commentaries by museum staff will be held on other Saturdays. Related planned programs include cardboard specimen making, copal polishing, insect portrait drawing, quiz events, and an "Insect Observation Meet." These workshops require advance registration by phone or in person on a first-come, first-served basis.
