About this event
Held at Nogata Tanio Art Museum, 'Chikuho Art Scene Series 2026: Hitokure' is a two-person exhibition featuring ceramic artist Yumiko Shinozaki and painter Takashi Shibata, both natives of Nogata City. The exhibition offers an opportunity to appreciate the worldview created by the encounter and blending of two artists who continue to produce work using different mediums: ceramics and painting. The exhibition title, 'Hitokure' (meaning 'a single mass/clod'), refers to something clustered into one or a gathering of forms without defined shapes, expressing the fusion of the two artists' creativity. During the exhibition period, many related events closely tied to artwork creation will be held, including a ceramic workshop by the exhibiting artists and an open production session by Takashi Shibata. In addition, a satellite exhibition will be held at the Nogata City Health and Welfare Center 'Yuzuria' to provide citizens with more accessible encounters with art. An opening talk session is also scheduled, allowing visitors to delve deeply into the artists' perspectives.
