According to the official Dazaifu City website, the "40th Dazaifu Citizens Government Office Festival" will be held in 2026 at the Dazaifu Government Office Ruins. Set against the backdrop of the Dazaifu Government Office Ruins likened to a vast open terrace, this festival aims to allow visitors to spend relaxing time immersed in nature while making the most of the original scenery, historical ruins, and lush greenery. At the venue, visitors can enjoy stage events, shopping, and dining while taking in the views of the government office ruins. Considerations have been made to allow anyone to participate with ease, providing sign language interpretation, accessible restrooms, and slopes. As part of community building by citizens, its purpose is to deepen mutual interaction among residents, enhance local pride, promote the creation of a bright and pleasant community, and contribute to the development of Dazaifu City. Vendor recruitment is being conducted, with areas designated for a flea market, tents using open flames, and kitchen cars using open flames. Volunteer recruitment has also begun for roles such as venue guidance, support at waste sorting and collection stations, and assisting with the operation of city-run booths. Highlights from last year's event are also introduced, showing the excitement of the festival.
