About this event
Oeshiki is an autumn tradition at Chinzei Minobusan Honbutsu-ji Temple in Ukiha City, honoring the virtues of Nichiren Shonin, the founder of the Nichiren sect. The procession of about 20 mando (lantern floats) parading from Shirakabe Exchange Plaza in Yoshii-machi to Honbutsu-ji Temple is a spectacular sight, with particular attention drawn to the beauty of the lanterns. This traditional event creates a magical scene during the long autumn night.
