About this event

During the summer vacation period, a variety of events will be held across three venues—Kasuya Town Library, Kasuya Children's Hall, and Sunlake Kasuya—where children can experience and interact with culture and arts. Kasuya Town Library will host the "Summer Storytelling Special," featuring large picture books, kamishibai (paper theater), and panel theater. Kasuya Children's Hall will offer "Let's Make Senko Hanabi," a workshop where children aged 4 and older and their guardians can craft traditional Japanese sparklers. At Sunlake Kasuya, the Kasuya Town Cultural Association will host daily "Hobby Discovery Workshops" covering various genres such as Japanese taiko drums, shogi, dance, paper cutting, and chorus. Additionally, the "Gather Around! Children's Plaza" will feature hands-on torn-paper collage art, the "Kasuya Children's Fair," and craft workshops for making original small accessories. Furthermore, Sakura Hall will host a "Sakura Hall Backstage Tour" providing a rare behind-the-scenes look, as well as a "Starlit Sky Workshop" to learn how to use telescopes and observe celestial objects. Stage performances will feature musical instrument recitals and dance by youth up to high school age, and the exhibition section will display calligraphy, paintings, and handmade crafts created by elementary through high school students.
