Don to Kagashi Festival Eve

Held in Chikuzen Town, Fukuoka Prefecture, the "Don to Kagashi Festival Eve" is an autumn festival that celebrates the harvest and gives thanks for the town's abundant natural blessings. The giant straw scarecrow (wara kagashi), the symbol of the festival, is illuminated, creating a spectacular scene in collaboration with fireworks launched from various parts of the town. At Yasuno Sato Park, the venue, visitors can enjoy a variety of attractions in addition to the display of the giant straw scarecrow, including a market (marche), food and drink booths, stage events, and a fire pump water-discharge experience. Made by weaving rice straw, the giant straw scarecrows have been crafted with different themes every year since 2015, expressing gratitude for Chikuzen Town's agricultural culture and food. During the eve festival, not only fireworks but also a market gathering local food and producers will be held, making it an event where you can experience the charms of Chikuzen Town with all five senses.
