About this event
The "Emioki Shinto Ritual / Emioki Traditional Cultural Festival," a traditional autumn festival handed down in Miyaki Town, Saga Prefecture, will be held at Emi Hachiman Shrine. Originating from the era when Emitsu thrived as a hub for gathering goods and related people were said to receive prayers, this ritual is also called "Oki Shinji" or "Emi no Juninichi" and is loved as the autumn grand festival of Emi Hachiman Shrine. On the festival day, a divine procession (Goshinko) takes place from Nishinomiya Hachiman Shrine to the grounds of Emi Hachiman Shrine, accompanied by the Emioki Traditional Cultural Festival. On this day, the Emi district is entirely wrapped in a festival mood, allowing visitors to experience the lively atmosphere of a good old rural autumn festival. It is a precious opportunity to experience traditional culture rooted in the local community.
