About this event
Held at Yoshinogari Historical Park, the "Yoshinogari Hometown Flame Festival" is a community-made festival themed around "fire (flame)", the origin of human life. Held since 1998 (Heisei 10), it is a beloved event celebrating fire against the backdrop of the Yoshinogari Ruins. The daytime program bustles with fun stage events and local product exhibitions. In the nighttime climax, a torchlight procession open to everyone illuminates the park, and visitors can enjoy a magical atmosphere featuring a flame dance centered on junior high school students and a giant bonfire (okuribi) lit by Himiko. This festival aims to deepen the bonds of local residents through fire and provide emotion and vitality to visitors.
