The 21st Arita Window Display Koshien

About this event

Set against the townscape of Arita Uchiyama, an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, this contest features high school students who will lead the next generation designing and decorating the show windows of ceramic shops to compete in technique and design quality. The display works created with the unique sensibility of high school students are exhibited for about 1 month, allowing visitors to stroll through the atmospheric streets of Arita Town while enjoying the works created by utilizing the fresh and gentle sensibility unique to teenagers and the techniques learned at school. There is also an opportunity for the high school students themselves to give presentations on the points they were particular about and what they want visitors to see in their works. Voting by visitors is also conducted to compete for the quality of the works.
