Nakashima River Summer Atmosphere - Nagasaki Night Market

Nagasaki Night Market is held every summer on the weekends of early and late August surrounding the Obon period, along both banks of the Nakashima River where a group of stone bridges, including the Meganebashi (Spectacles Bridge), span the water. Dressed in yukata, visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll in the summer dusk around the Nakashima River illuminated by the lit-up Meganebashi and 200 paper lanterns. On event days, stalls and events such as magic shows are held, offering plenty of fun. The night market runs from 17:00 to 21:00 and will proceed in light rain, but will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain. The illumination takes place from August 1 to August 31, between 18:00 and 22:00.
