The "Takeda-ryu Kisha Yabusame" (horseback archery), a prefectural Important Intangible Cultural Property with approximately 1,100 years of history, will be held against the backdrop of Kumamoto Castle. This powerful traditional event of shooting arrows while riding a horse is a precious spectacle that can only be seen here. This event is held as part of the "Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake Reconstruction Project Autumn Kumamoto Castle Festival ~Onward, Forward~" and is one of the colorful events that decorate Kumamoto Castle in autumn. Information on the restoration status of Kumamoto Castle and event information utilizing places like the Ninomaru Square are also updated from time to time, providing an opportunity to experience traditional Japanese culture alongside the steps toward reconstruction. On the day, the opening hours of the Kumamoto Castle Special Opening Area will be extended and special illuminations will also be conducted, allowing visitors to enjoy Yabusame in a magical atmosphere.
