2026 SDGs Future City Festa: Minamata City x Minamata High School

The "2026 SDGs Future City Festa: Minamata City x Minamata High School" will be held at the Minamata City General Gymnasium. Commemorating Minamata City's designation as an "SDGs Future City," this event brings together universities, research institutions, businesses, government administrations, and Minamata High School students. Numerous booths will be set up where visitors can enjoy learning about diverse topics such as the environment, energy, health, and manufacturing. This year's festival aims not only to help people "learn" about the SDGs, but also to encourage them to think about "what they can do" and take action. Notably, with the full cooperation of Minamata High School students, the event features planning, management, and research presentations by high schoolers, putting a spotlight on the active role of the next generation shaping the future. In addition, a "Gymnasium Marche" will be held on the same day, offering light meals and drinks for sale. The event is enjoyable for both children and adults. Admission is free, but advance registration is recommended for some hands-on experience booths to prepare materials. The application period runs from Friday, July 17 to Friday, August 14.
