Minamata Learning Starting from the Sea

About this event

A learning event titled 'Minamata Learning Starting from the Sea' will be held, where participants can accurately learn about Minamata disease and experience the present beauty of the Minamata sea. In the morning, an introductory study on Minamata disease and the Minamata sea will take place at the Minamata Disease Museum, and in the afternoon, hands-on activities will be held on the Minamata sea. In the sea kayaking experience, participants will head toward Koijishima Island. The content is perfect for summer vacation homework, allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of Minamata. Participation is free. It is open to elementary school students and older, but junior high school students and younger must be accompanied by 1 adult. Approximately 20 participants are recruited for each day, and a lottery will be held if applications exceed capacity.
