The "40th Tsunagi Summer Festival" held in Tsunagi Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, was originally scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, but was postponed and held on Saturday, August 29, 2026. The festival's charm lies in a variety of stage events presented by various groups, including performances by nursery school children and Japanese wadaiko drumming. In particular, "Let's Play with Kumamon!" featuring the popular character Kumamon starts at 18:35, offering fun for both children and adults. Furthermore, the venue becomes unified with open-participation group dances such as "Tsunagi Kouta" and "Kaettekita Otemoyan." Numerous stalls line the venue, and a lottery draw is held. The fireworks display marking the finale of the festival is launched near the venue, vividly coloring the night sky and creating memorable summer moments. With many vendor stalls lining up and a prize lottery using tickets held on the day, lively crowds are expected throughout the entire day.
