5th Kushiro Children's Summer Festival

The 5th Kushiro Children's Summer Festival is an educational event where a festival transforms into living learning. Organized by the NPO Learning Support LUPIS, local junior high and high school students actively lead the event operations, gaining hands-on real-world experience through beverage sales, planning, and management. Local adults serve as Machinaka Teachers (town teachers) to offer vocational experiences, creating a space for multigenerational interaction and career support. Scheduled programs include Splash Wars water games, a Street Performer Contest featuring spirited performances by both professionals and amateurs, a special edition of Music Enjoyment Night by local professional musicians, a Family Singing Contest, and a Grand Raffle with luxurious prizes. In addition, the High Schoolers' Shop run by local students will sell drinks for children. Special appearances by the dance studio STUDIO YIPPEE, singer-songwriter Eikichi Takeda, and the Kyoei Jr. Brass & Sakuragaoka Junior High School Wind Ensemble will further liven up the festival.
