About this event
Commemorating the 145th anniversary of the Minami-Nippon Shimbun, this exhibition brings together specimens across a wide range of genres in one venue, including the first-ever Kagoshima display of full-body skeletons of Triceratops and the tyrannosauroid Lythronax, a dynamic over 11-meter-long plesiosaur Thalassomedon, and tyrannosauroids such as Alioramus and Tarbosaurus, often hailed as the king of carnivorous dinosaurs. Highlighting the new Dinosaur Kingdom Kagoshima, special exhibits from within the prefecture include fossilized ceratopsian tooth roots and a restored hadrosauroid femur specimen from the Koshiki Museum, as well as pterosaur fossils from Shishijima Island. With cutting-edge CG videos, ammonite fossil excavation experiences, and hands-on activities to test dinosaur bite forces and listen to their vocalizations, this is an exhibition where families can learn through seeing, touching, playing, and enjoying.
