Tokara Fair (Including Tokara Islands Gourmet Gathering & Tokara Local Products Fair)

The 'Tokara Fair', organized by Toshima Village, will be held at Yamakataya in Kagoshima City. This fair is a project to support producers of the Tokara Islands through 'food', providing food experiences packed with the charms of the islands for one month from October 1 to 31. At the Yamakataya Cafeteria, the 'Tokara Set Meal' that was well-received last year will make a renewed appearance as the 'Islands Shokado', and new menu items such as 'Seafood Napolitan' made with amberjack and chomeiso (longevity herb) can be enjoyed. At the French restaurant 'Le Dome', a lunch menu using Tokara ingredients created by the executive chef will be introduced. Furthermore, on October 10, the 'Tokara Islands Gourmet Gathering' will be held as a special full course utilizing ingredients from Nakanoshima and Akusekijima (limited to 40 people, reservation required). In addition, from October 10 to 12, the 'Tokara Local Products Fair' will also be held, bringing together rare island souvenirs such as tote bags with illustrations by the original author of the manga 'Kodoku no Gourmet' (The Solitary Gourmet), 'Tokara Gin' craft gin made with 'Egao Mikan' mandarins from Nakanoshima, and salt made from the hot spring water of Kodakara Island. On the day, producers will also stand at the sales floor to convey the appeal of the products directly.
