In this lecture, Daisuke Yamashita, curator at the Satsumasendai City Koshiki Museum, will provide an easy-to-understand explanation of the formation of the Koshikishima Islands in Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture, and the appeal of the fossils discovered in excavation surveys to date. By learning about the geological characteristics of Koshikishima and the precious fossils buried there, visitors can catch a glimpse of the ancient Earth and the history of the evolution of life. It will be an excellent opportunity to reflect on Koshikishima's past as told by fossils and deepen understanding of its rich nature and history.
