Hirakawa Festa 2026: Hira Turtle Race

Hirakawa City will host the "Hira Turtle Race" with the aim of providing a fun place for children and enlivening the festival. This unique race is open to turtles with a width of less than 15 centimeters, regardless of species or whether the owner is from inside or outside the city. The race takes place over a distance of around 3 meters, though the running distance is subject to change. Participants bring their turtles to the venue on the day to complete registration. Prizes will also be provided, and the number of races will be decided based on the registration status of participants. This event is held as part of the "Hirakawa Festa 2026," which showcases the appeal of Hirakawa City's agriculture and forestry, and visitors can also enjoy various other events and gourmet food at the venue.
