"MINIATURE LIFE Exhibition 2: Tatsuya Tanaka's World of Mitate" by Tatsuya Tanaka, a miniature photographer and "mitate" (likening/reimagining) artist who has drawn over 3.2 million visitors in Japan and abroad and enjoys immense popularity on social media, will be held at the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art. This exhibition showcases approximately 180 photographic and 3D miniature works creating small, humorous worlds by combining diorama figurines with everyday household items—such as a hamburger becoming a parachute, a baumkuchen becoming a rainbow, or sushi cars driving around. Featuring the first public unveiling of local-themed works created specifically for the Hokkaido edition, as well as photo spots where visitors feel as though they have stepped into a miniature world, the content can be enjoyed across generations, from adults to children. Packed with playful surprises and wordplay that will make you smile, this collection of works never fails to entertain viewers.
