The "16th Oirase Autumn Festival," held in Oirase Town, Aomori Prefecture, is an event that brings together float teams and cultural performance groups that independently build and enter floats in the town's representative festivals, the "Momoishi Festival" and "Shimoda Festival." The highlights of the festival are the joint festival music performances and traditional performing arts presentations, which entertain visitors. Food and game stalls will also line the venue, enhancing the festive mood. Capping off the festival's finale is a fireworks display that lights up the autumn night sky. This festival will serve as a valuable opportunity to experience firsthand the tradition and vitality of Oirase Town. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026 (Reiwa 8), and will take place in the north parking lot of AEON MALL Shimoda. As it may be cancelled due to weather, checking in advance is recommended. Due to the fireworks launch, traffic restrictions will be in effect in part of the parking lot starting from 18:45. Carpooling is encouraged as congestion is expected on the day. The event schedule is as follows: The opening ceremony starts at 16:30, followed by joint festival music performances and traditional performing arts presentations from 16:45. The long-awaited fireworks launch is scheduled for 19:15. Stalls will operate from 16:30 to 20:00. Participating float groups include the Shimoda Matsuri Sanbongi Executive Committee, Mita Chonaikai Minami Float Group, Fujigamori Float Group, Kamishincho Float Group, Mita Chonaikai Kita Float Group, and Maki Float Group Executive Committee. Participating dance groups include Pioneer Soran, Maki Performing Arts Preservation Society, Oirase Town United Women's Association, Oirase Town Cultural Association, and Motomura Folk Performing Arts Preservation Society.
