About this event

The Halina Czerny-Stefańska Memorial Ikare International Music Festival 2026 in KUJI: "Resonating in the Land of Amber, Gems of Masterpieces" will be held in Kuji City, Iwate Prefecture. Inviting a Polish master harpsichordist and a genius boy pianist, gems of masterpieces will be performed. Dedicated to the memory of Halina Czerny-Stefańska, this music festival bears the name of the master who was the winner of the 1949 International Chopin Piano Competition, and is the world's only international music festival personally authorized by her daughter, Ms. Elzbieta Stefanska. As Hachinohe City Public Hall, which was used in previous years, is closed long-term for renovation work, this year's festival will be held in Kuji City. Concerts and free lectures are scheduled; while the performance program and performers are currently being arranged, information will be updated as needed.
