About this event
Local Good National Convention 2026 is an event held in Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture, where local new power producers from across Japan gather. At this convention, regional new power companies come together to share their challenges and practices, and deepen discussions on how to create value in local communities. There will also be opportunities to visit sites of advanced initiatives, such as community-led solar sharing and green slow mobility that serves as a starting point for regional revitalization. On Day 1, lectures will be held at the Rikuzentakata City Community Hall to explore the value of regional new power from multiple angles. On Day 2, participants can tour various locations within Rikuzentakata City to experience local practices firsthand through the Ministry of the Environment's decarbonization leading region initiative, an inspection of municipal forest J-Credits, and observation of earthquake disaster recovery progress. This convention will serve as a valuable venue to strengthen regional new power networks and promote collaboration.
