About this event
"Mystery-Solving Night Aquarium: The Moon Floating in Light and Darkness", held for the first time by Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium, is a collaboration event between the aquarium and a walk-around mystery-solving game set in the facility after hours. As participants explore the nighttime aquarium, they use invitation letters from two keepers—the "Keeper of Light" and the "Keeper of Darkness"—as clues to take on puzzles that take advantage of the animals' characteristics and exhibition details. The story unfolds from the twin perspectives of "light" and "darkness," allowing visitors to enjoy mysteries themed around pitch-black darkness as well as those set in bright, pop exhibition areas. There are three difficulty levels ranging from beginner to advanced; participants can progress step-by-step from beginner puzzles geared toward upper elementary school students and above to more challenging riddles for advanced players. Checkpoints are set up at each stage, allowing participants to advance the story while building a sense of achievement. Because the exhibits and the animals' unique features themselves serve as clues, visitors can look forward to an immersive experience unique to an aquarium.
