Takikawa Cosmos Marathon 2026

About this event

A citizen marathon held in refreshing September when Takikawa City's official flower, cosmos, is in full bloom. The course runs along public roads in downtown Takikawa and the Ishikari River bank, allowing participants to run while enjoying the beautiful nature and cityscape. Half marathon, 10 km, and 1.5 km categories are available for runners of all ages and skill levels. On the day of the event, participants will receive their choice of entry gift (original towel or an onion and potato set) and entry into a lottery to win gift certificates valid at Matsuo Jingisukan main and directly managed stores. The venue is fully equipped with drinks, a basic first-aid station, mobile first-aid staff, and medical services such as massages to ensure a safe environment. Inquiries regarding accommodation are also available and supported by the Takikawa Tourism Association.
