About this event

This event explores whether coal can become an energy source of the future, providing an opportunity to learn about energy and contemplate the future. Designed for 5th and 6th-grade elementary school students, this 3-day, 2-night program visits the Hokkaido Experience Activity Support Center for Youth (Napal Sunagawa), the Mikasa Ponbetsu Coal Mine, and the Takikawa City Next-Generation Energy Park. For 8,600 yen—which includes facility usage fees, meals, activity fees, bus fares, insurance fees, and accommodation tax—participants can learn deeply about the history and future of energy. The capacity is approximately 30 participants, and in the event of many applicants, selection and a lottery will be conducted. Through this journey, children will deepen their understanding of energy issues and gain an opportunity to think about a sustainable future.
