Tome Autumn Festival

About this event

Inherited for 351 years, the Tome Autumn Festival features the "Soken Shinsakai" (Float Review & Judging) on Saturday's eve festival, where "Toyoma-style" floats made by neighborhood associations gather together, and the nighttime illuminated float festival where visitors can enjoy the lit-up floats. During Sunday's main festival, portable shrines, floats, and warrior processions parade through the district, filled with the sounds of flutes and taiko drums playing the essential "Toyoma Bayashi" festival music. At the main venue, taiko performances, choruses, and hand dances by junior high school students will take place, and the sight of gorgeous, lavish floats parading while echoing festival music is a breathtaking highlight.
