Hiroshige Kagawa Giant Painting Exhibition: Disaster Area Cloaked in Snow

A special exhibition of the giant watercolor painting "Disaster Area Cloaked in Snow" by painter Hiroshige Kagawa, a resident of Zao Town, Miyagi Prefecture. On a massive canvas measuring 5.4 meters high and 16.4 meters wide, the scenes of the disaster-stricken area following the Great East Japan Earthquake are depicted in meticulous detail. Released less than a year after the disaster, the artist himself describes it as a "miraculous work far exceeding my own abilities." This is the first exhibition of the work in Zao Town in 10 years. During the exhibition period, special events including a live performance by singer-songwriter Miki, a classical concert, and art commentary by the artist will be held, offering a special time spent alongside the artwork. It provides a valuable opportunity to pass down memories of the disaster to future generations.
