About this event

According to the Fukushima City official website and the official website of Gekidan 120-EN, a pre-opening performance commemorating the completion of the renovation work on the Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property 'Former Hiroseza' will be held. This performance aims to allow audiences to experience firsthand the precious stage space that retains the atmosphere of the Meiji period, and the local theater troupe Gekidan 120-EN will perform its masterpiece 'Mutsu no Hana - Gimin Shibai Taroemon'. The synopsis is a story set in Shinobu District during the Kyoho era, where Taroemon, a representative of the farmers, risks his life to make a direct petition to save people suffering from poor harvests due to prolonged rain and increased land taxes. After the performance, a special stage experience will also be held where the audience can freely enjoy taking photos on stage. Due to high popularity, an additional performance to the original schedule has also been confirmed. Viewing is free, but advance application is required, and a lottery will be held if applicants exceed capacity.
