Aizu Shiokawa Balloon Festival 2026

The "Aizu Shiokawa Balloon Festival 2026," a beloved autumn tradition in Kitakata, will take place. Approximately 25 hot air balloons from across the nation will gather, creating a spectacular scene coloring the sky that is well worth seeing. During the event, competitive hot air balloon flights will be held from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM, allowing visitors to enjoy flights in the clear early morning air. In addition, hot air balloon trial tethered rides will be offered from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM (advance registration required). Furthermore, on the night of Saturday, October 17, from 5:30 PM to 5:50 PM, a magical Night Glow will be held, illuminating the balloons in sync with fireworks and music to create a special evening atmosphere. The venue is Nippashigawa Ryokuchi Jiyu Hiroba in Shiokawa-machi, Kitakata City. The fee for the hot air balloon trial ride is 2,000 yen for elementary school students and younger, and 3,000 yen for junior high school students and older. Applications for competing teams are also open, with an entry fee of 18,000 yen per balloon.
