Chikusei Fireworks Festival 2026, held in Chikusei City, Ibaraki Prefecture, is scheduled to launch approximately 20,000 fireworks around Roadside Station Grand Terrace Chikusei. The opening ceremony begins at 6:00 p.m., and in case of stormy weather, the event will be postponed to the following day, Sunday, October 18. The pyrotechnicians feature prominent names representing Ibaraki, including Yamazaki Fireworks (Tsukuba City), Mori Fireworks Factory (Chikusei City), and Nomura Fireworks (Mito City), promising a thrilling competition. Sponsorship applications will be accepted from June 1 to July 31, 2026 (Reiwa 8), with citizen advance ticket sales running from early to late July, and general sales starting in early September. Online sales will also be available. With about 20,000 fireworks launched over approximately 75 minutes, it is designed to be enjoyed at a brisk, well-paced tempo in a short duration. This magnificent fireworks display coloring the autumn night sky is expected to draw a large crowd.
