The 34th Sano Hidesato Matsuri

About this event

Named after Lord Fujiwara no Hidesato, who laid the foundation of Sano, the Sano Hidesato Matsuri is grandly held as a major event of Sano City. Under the slogan of total citizen participation, many citizens of Sano participate in the festival in some form, fostering local pride and raising civic awareness of their hometown while incorporating the traditional charms of old Sano. Diverse events are also held as a venue to deepen encounters and connections with visitors. Celebrating its 34th edition this year, the festival will be held over two days, with the program scheduled to feature the Citizen Dance Parade and Sano Hidesato Nebuta Parade on Day 1, and Mikoshi and Ohayashi Parades on Day 2.
