About this event

The "37th Takasaki Music Festival," coloring Takasaki in autumn, will be held at Takasaki City Theatre over 17 days from Saturday, September 26 to Monday (National Holiday), October 12, 2026. Since its inception in 1990, it has been the city's representative music event, giving form to "Takasaki, the City of Music" through diverse music genres including classical, jazz, pop, traditional music, and world music. Connecting the Gunma Symphony Orchestra, Takasaki City Theatre, citizens' musical activities, and encounters with domestic and international artists, it continues to evolve as an urban music festival delivering music across generations and genres. The music festival opens with a free-invitation opening concert by the Gunma Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, the "Takasaki Children's Concert: First Orchestra for Parents and Children from Age 0," led by composer Isao Yoshida who hails from this city, will be held, providing children with an opportunity to experience orchestral sounds for the first time. Many notable performances are scheduled, including a collaboration between pianist Hayato Sumino, who is attracting attention domestically and internationally, and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, a live concert by UA, and a concert by Kiyoshi Maekawa. Furthermore, the "Takasaki Golden Night Show" featuring Shishido Kavka and Chage will also be held, offering uniquely entertaining live performances. Ticket sales will begin sequentially from 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
