Onoike Hydrangea Park Hydrangea Festival

About this event

Held at Onoike Hydrangea Park, where around 8,000 hydrangea bushes of about 20 varieties (the official flower of Shibukawa City) are planted, the "Onoike Hydrangea Park Hydrangea Festival" takes place from mid-June to early July. The park features a well-maintained walking course of approximately 2 km, where visitors can view various types of hydrangeas, including mophead hydrangeas and Kurenai mountain hydrangeas blooming on gentle slopes. During the festival, evening illuminations are held, allowing guests to enjoy the fantastically blooming hydrangeas at night. In addition, as a collaboration project with manga artist Ike, numerous events are planned for visitors to enjoy, including an exhibition of reproduced original drawings, merchandise sales, and a stamp rally. Features such as installed wind chimes, Japanese umbrella rentals, and food/beverage stalls further enhance the enjoyment of strolling through the park.
