Oura Town's biggest summer event, the "2026 Oura Festival," is confirmed to be held again this year. It will take place at Oura Chuo Multipurpose Plaza on Sunday, August 23, 2026 (Reiwa 8), from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In case of stormy weather, only the fireworks will be postponed to the following day, Monday the 24th. One of the festival's main highlights, the fireworks display, will be held at Oura Chuo Park (south side of Oura Town Hall) on the same day for 30 minutes starting at 8:00 PM. Times vary depending on the specific event program. The executive committee is recruiting volunteers to help energize the festival, as well as participants for the float and mikoshi portable shrine division and the stage performance division. Sponsorship donations are also accepted, with special perks provided for sponsors contributing above a certain amount. Additionally, due to the festival, Oura Town Central Community Center, the Town Library, and the Aiai Center will be closed all day on Sunday, August 23, 2026 (Reiwa 8).
