The 'Gallery Talk by Curator' held at Gunma Museum of Art, Tatebayashi is conducted in conjunction with the ongoing exhibition 'Czech Toys and Design: From Niklova's Plastic Toys to Contemporary Artists' Art.' In this gallery talk, a curator will provide detailed commentary on the highlights of the exhibition, the history of Czech toys and design, the charm of Libuse Niklova's works, and the rich stream of creative culture leading up to contemporary artists' art. In particular, the talk explores works from the era when plastic was regarded as a 'dream material,' the diversity of expression across different materials from wooden toys to contemporary art, and the expansion of this creative world through puppet theater puppets and picture books created by Niklova's son, contemporary artist Petr Nikl. At the venue, a corner is also provided where visitors can actually touch Niklova's inflatable toys, allowing visitors to appreciate the appeal of design more deeply through both visual and tactile experiences.
