Japanese name:「里沼」ワークショップ ヨシ灯りをつくろう!@館林市

📅 Sat, Aug 22, 2026

📍 Tatebayashi, Gumma

About this event

This is a summer vacation special workshop utilizing reeds (yoshi), a rich natural resource of the Japan Heritage site "Satonuma." In addition to the annual mini reed lanterns, participants this year can also make slightly larger lanterns incorporating reed screen (yoshizu) weaving techniques. It is a valuable opportunity to experience the charm of "Satonuma" through crafting with reeds that grow wild in the marshes. Although designed for elementary and junior high school students, adults can also enjoy it together. There are morning and afternoon sessions, and the participation fee varies depending on the size of the lantern. Participation by parents and children is also recommended, making it ideal for creating summer vacation memories.
