About this event
'Tonttu Festival 2026' is held at Metsa Village in Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture, as part of a long-term event themed on an inclusive society continuing through 2031. This year's theme is 'A day where something can be created, whether alone or together.', offering a variety of content to experience diversity as an inclusive outdoor festival. At the 'Ichibun no Ichi' Market, where products from welfare facilities across the country gather under the theme of 'Meet, know, and find "what I like"', wonderful goods collected from more than 70 welfare facilities from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south will be lined up. On the special stage overlooking Lake Miyazawa, a variety of performances such as music, dance, and drum sessions can be enjoyed, featuring programs in which people with and without disabilities, from children to adults, can participate. The entertainment cheer dance group DREAM WONDERLAND has been appointed as official Tonttu (ambassadors) and will also serve as MCs. Additionally, a talk show inviting Ms. Kazuyo Tanaka of the Urasenke School of Tea Ceremony titled 'Thinking from the Way of Tea: Communication Design to Leverage Diversity' and an outdoor tea ceremony experience will also be held. In the workshops, programs to experience various joys of 'making' are prepared, such as ear reflexology jewelry & aroma experience, scrap wood robot keychain making, original daruma making, washi paper Tonttu hat making, indigo & plant-dyed handkerchief making, himmeli & terra moss making, and acrylic painting. Free games and sports where participants can experience 'differences' and 'similarities' through play can also be enjoyed.
