Hidaka City is the leading chestnut-producing region in the prefecture, characterized by high-quality and large chestnuts. Shipment of these chestnuts began on Wednesday, August 26, and is scheduled to be sold at direct sales locations in the city and supermarkets in the Tokyo metropolitan area from early September. In addition to branded varieties such as 'Komagawa Marron' and 'Hidaka Poron', there is a rich selection of processed products, attracting many people to visit Hidaka City every year in search of chestnuts. At the 8th Hidaka Chestnut Festival, raw chestnuts and processed chestnut products will be sold within the Kinchakuda Red Spider Lily Festival venue. Other attractions will also be held, such as the 'Chestnut Grabbing' and 'Chestnut Smartball', which are very popular with children. Please come and savor Hidaka's chestnuts, which are now in season.
