The Hanno Festival is a traditional festival held every autumn. Bringing together local residents and visitors alike, it combines traditional ceremonies such as festive float processions, local Hayashi music (Ibayashi), and lion dances with a citizen parade, food stalls, and various stage events. In 2026, it is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 7, and Sunday, November 8. On festival days, a community market (citizen stall area) along Hanno Chuo-dori Street will run from 12:00 to 20:00, with the opening ceremony taking place from 12:30 to 13:00 in front of the festival headquarters on Hanno Odori. The parade will run from 13:00 to 15:00 from the vicinity of the Nakamachi Intersection past the festival headquarters to the Hirokoji and Higashicho Intersections. An outdoor music concert will also be held in the Hanno Shinkin Bank Central Branch parking lot from 13:00 to 16:20, featuring performances by the Hanno Shinkin Bank Brass Band, Surugadai University Brass Band, Hanno City Wind Orchestra Vivace, Seibo Gakuen Brass Band, and the Hanno Wind Music Research Association. Stage events will run from 13:00 to 19:00 on the Hanno Chuo-dori special stage, while stationary Yosakoi dance performances will take place along Hanno Ginza-dori and Hanno Ekimae-dori, with moving Yosakoi parade dances taking place between the Nakamachi and Higashicho Intersections from 15:30 to 16:15. In the evening, sokonuke yatai (bottomless open-air float) processions will move through the traffic-controlled area from 17:00 to around 20:30, culminating in a dramatic float face-off (hiki-awase) along Hanno Ginza-dori from 19:50 to 20:00.
