39th 2026 Ageo City Half Marathon

The "39th 2026 Ageo City Half Marathon" will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2026 (Reiwa 8). The half marathon starts on a public road (Kawagoe-Ageo Line) and finishes at the Ageo Athletic Stadium along an out-and-back course within Ageo City, officially certified by World Athletics and the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF). A 5 km division will also be held. Running from the urban center to the verdant suburbs, the course features few undulations and is flat, offering great prospects for record times. With numerous regular Hakone Ekiden competing schools participating, experiencing the running of top athletes up close is a key appeal. Drawing around 8,000 runners each year, this tournament aims to foster communication between citizens and runners, promote health, boost sports, and enhance Ageo City's public image. The half marathon division is open to individuals aged 15 and older (excluding junior high school students) with an entry fee of 7,000 yen, and the 5 km division is also open to individuals aged 15 and older (excluding junior high school students) with an entry fee of 4,000 yen. Advance registration is required; the Ageo resident priority entry window runs from July 1 (Wed) to July 3 (Fri), 2026, and the general entry window runs from July 4 (Sat) to August 31 (Mon), 2026. In addition, a Junior Challenge Run for junior high school students and younger will take place on the preceding day, Saturday, November 21.
