About this event

The "49th Okegawa Citizen's Festival" will be held centering around November 3 (Culture Day). Nakasendo Avenue will feature parades and a pedestrian zone where visitors can enjoy food and beverage stalls by citizen groups, flea markets, and bazaars. In particular, the reenactment of the Princess Kazunomiya Procession features participants in colorful costumes marching along Nakasendo Avenue, departing Okegawa Elementary School at 1:30 PM and being showcased at Nakasendo Parking around 2:00 PM. On the special stage at Nakasendo Parking, various events including the unveiling of the Princess Kazunomiya Procession will liven up the festival. In the schoolyard of Okegawa Elementary School, a "Children's Plaza" will be set up with dance performances by children and other activities. In addition, the "Welfare Plaza" will feature handmade goods sales and bazaars by welfare organizations, welfare experience booths, and a blood donation corner. There will also be an "Agricultural Produce Direct Sales Plaza" selling local farm products and Okegawa milk, and a "Kotobuki Plaza" featuring corporate PR, food stalls, log-cutting experiences, and stage events. Ahead of the main festival, the "Sports and Martial Arts Plaza" will be held on Sunday, October 25 at Okegawa Sun Arena, offering various martial arts tournaments, demonstrations, and trial booths. As there is no parking at the venue, visitors are requested to come by public transportation, bicycle, or on foot. In case of rain, announcements regarding partial or full cancellation will be posted on the morning of the event via the city's official website and official social media accounts.
