The '2026 Parent-Child Fureai Walk' is a free walking event for parents and children held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in the Kawataya district of Okegawa City, Saitama Prefecture. This year's theme is 'Okegawa's Foods,' where participants walk a course of about 4 km while learning the secrets behind how foods produced in Okegawa that we usually eat are made. The event targets elementary and junior high school students and their guardians, though children in the 4th grade of elementary school and above can participate on their own. On the day, participants meet at the Agricultural Center at 8:45 AM, and the event is scheduled to end at 12:30 PM. It will proceed in light rain, and participation prizes are prepared for elementary and junior high school participants. This event offers a wonderful opportunity to deepen understanding of the local area and raise interest in food, allowing families to connect with Okegawa's culinary culture.
