About this event
The "Shiraoka Furusato Festival," held at the Shiraoka City Community Center and Shiraoka Hachiman Park, is a citizen-participation festival aimed at mutual interaction among residents, community building, and fostering local pride. Led by the Shiraoka City Community Council, which is composed of groups active within Shiraoka City, it is held annually on the third Sunday of October. On the day, visitors can enjoy brass band performances, local performing arts, stage presentations by cultural groups, on-site food sales such as udon and mochi, outdoor attractions like traditional games and a bazaar, sports and recreation including ground golf, as well as diverse attractions like lotteries and dragonfly glass beads (tonbodama). It is an event that a wide range of generations, from children to adults, can enjoy.
